Nothing like a little
closure.
OK, so it’s not that heavy but it feels good to
say that, yes, these are the final mixes and I’m ready to go all out on the 24
track from here on in.
So this CD was mainly put together for sale at
CD
Baby. Man, I love those guys.
Pulled Over:
The second song from The Spy Is The Limit, one of two concept albums I did. This
was the point in the story where I was speeding to my new mission and got pulled
over by a lovely female officer. Needless to say, I got off….without a ticket.
The Case of the Missing Finger:
Again, from The Spy Is The Limit. This was almost the title of the album but I
thought it would be a bit much. One of my luckier guitar solos too.
Esther’s In Town:
When I started putting together CDs for The Store,
Landing Strip ended up being
the album that everything else I wanted to keep got put on, but chronologically
this was done a couple of months after The Spy Is The Limit. It’s just a fun
song about that time of month.
Landing Strip:
From Landing Strip. Heavily debted to James Gang’s Funk #49 and Deep Purple’s
Rat Bat Blue. I think it was going to start out as a Stewardess song but I’ll
take what came out.
Nice Piece:
From Landing Strip. Just a quick ditty about that time I went to a restaurant.
Knocked Up:
From Coffee Stains. Not a true story…for me anyways.
Enjoying The View:
From I’ll Spy Anything Twice. The riff is basically Tommy Bolin’s Homeward
Strut. The song starts off my second Spy mission.
Nuts:
From I’ll Spy Anything Twice. Always have some sort of nourishment around,
especially when guests are present.
Line Of Credit:
From the deleted Sticks It Out album. It’s about that time I went to the bank.
When I started The Store, I put this song on
I’ll Spy Anything Twice. It still
fit within the story.
Thing Work Out:
From Sticks It Out but wound up on Landing Strip. One of my personal favourites. A big debt to Fleetwood Mac on this one.
Nice Shoes:
From Lays Back. Just a song about something that rhymes with “shoes”.
Lay
Back:
From Lays Back. The Robin Trower influence is obvious but this was actually
inspired by Buddy Guy’s cover of Issac Hayes’ Do Your Thing.
Reviews:
"Will Work for Money" by Gregg Koval is a
fun collection of rock songs. Gregg's clever lyrical plays on words had
us laughing throughout the CD. The combination of these clever lyrics
and Gregg's knack for writing memorable choruses, will leave you with
some repeatingly funny themes in your mind after listening to this CD -
Go ahead, grab a handful and help yourself to these tracks. The music on
the CD is solid as well, especially the guitar playing. "Knocked Up" was
one of our favorites, with a catchy upbeat groove and a memorable chorus
that had us cracking up. There's even some financial advise on the CD,
with "Line of Credit." If you're looking to lighten up your day with
some good tunes and good laughs, check out this CD. (Mature Themes).
