Notes:

This CD started out as a "I need some new songs to try the drum kit out with".  Unfortunately, there's only 3 new songs, "Now Showing", "Grow On You", "Stiff Competition".  All the rest are oldies but rerecorded.  "Consenting Adult" was first recorded back in 1999; "Pop and Chips", "Warm Front" and "Taking Off" were originally done back in 2001; and "Combinations and Permutations" is one of the first songs I've ever recorded - it's about 20 years old.  "Pictures Again" and "Come and Go Again" are from 2007.

The reason I redid Pictures and Come and Go is that I was going to replace the drum tracks on anything I recorded (and liked) on the Tascam 2488; basically the Hits The Spot, Drives It Home and Blind Date CDs.  Problem was I didn't have the back-up DVD with the separate tracks so I had to rerecord those from scratch.  I rerecorded Hit The Spot too but I couldn't find a good spot in the running order so left it off.  Whether I actually go back and redo those drum tracks is another story.

Techy-notes:

All guitars, except for the acoustic guitars, went direct in using a SansAmp.  And for the first time since I started recording, the Junior didn't make an appearance.  Also, the bass went through the SansAmp too.

All in all, it's not really a bad collection of songs though.

Here we go, song-by-song:

Now Showing
It was about that time I went to the theatre.  Lovely girl working the box office.  First of the new ones.  I wish I had more new ones since they seem to be the better ones.
Guitars: All guitars are the Les Paul Studio.  Bass: Epiphone EB3.

Pop and Chips
Ah - a song about sharing.  And, yes, I know, it's basically a novelty song but that's OK.  I rarely record the Talk Box.
Guitars: Les Paul Studio for the main guitar.  The SG3 for the Talk Boxes.  Also, there's the new Ovation is there.  This was mic'ed and lined-in at the same time.  Bass: Goya

Warm Front
I think this is one of my favourites for some reason.  I don't know why.  Anyways, it's about meeting the TV Weathergirl.  And a nod to the Faces
Guitars: Les Paul Studio panned in the left.  All other guitars are the SG3.  Bass: Goya

Combinations and Permutations
Yup, it's about Math ironically set to a country song.  As I mentioned above, this is one of the first songs I've ever recorded.  I found an old tape with this on it, had a listen to the words and decided to redo it.  You might actually learn something.
Guitars: All electrics are the Les Paul Studio. There's 2 different tracks using the Roto Machine - 1 slow speed and one fast speed.  The acoustics are the Ovation.  Bass: EB3

Stiff Competition
I've had the title for quite a while, back when I was doing Gets Scared last year.  It's about a friendly rivalry with some inanimate objects.
Guitars: There's a hidden Les Paul Studio with a stereo flanger and the lead goes to the SG3.  Bass: EB3

Grow On You
Again, a title that's been around for a while after I heard someone say that my Will Work For Money CD "grew" on them.  The most accurate thing I've ever heard about my songs.
Guitars: There's the SG3 panned right, the Studio panned left and there's a hidden slide guitar starting on the second solo.  That's the Goldtop.  Bass: EB3

Come and Go Again
As I mentioned above, I love that drum kit so much, I wanted to redo the better songs from 2007 to now.  I found the multitrack backups for all of Blind Date and Drives It Home but only 3 songs from Hits The Spot.  Ouch.  So I had to redo it.  That's OK because I think it's the nicest thing on the this CD.
Guitars: All guitars are the Les Paul Studio except the slide guitar at the end which is the SG3.  I think it's the second time I've used a slide in regular tuning.  On a neat note, the lead guitar is a blend of a "straight" guitar track and a track using the Line6 Roto Machine recorded at the same time.  Bass: Goya

Consenting Adult
I was going to rerecord this for Gets Scared because, really, what's scarier than a consenting adult?  Anyways, 11 years later, I think I have my good version. Guitars: many but they're all the Studio.  Panned Octave guitars, Maestro phaser guitar and a Roto Machine guitar...it's all in there.  Bass: Goya.

Bonus Songs

Pictures Again
Rerecorded and almost identical.
Guitars: Les Paul Studio for the rhythm guitars and the SG3 for the lead.  Bass: Goya

Taking Off
Rerecorded and sounding better than it did 9 years ago.
Guitars: Les Paul Studio for all guitars but the solo.  That's the SG3.  Bass: EB3

There weren't originally going to be bonus songs but since this is really the only "regular" CD that'll probably be out this year, I figured I'd better put it all out, except for two instrumentals that were finished earlier in the year.  The Blind Date/Drives It Home with new drum tracks will be, if I do do it (it's a task), available through MP3 only.  That's the plan anyways.
