FAQ

Q:  What is this Site about?

A:  When I started the site many years ago, it was mainly about 4-track home recording and a few articles not related to recording. That way it could appeal to someone who doesn't care much about music but still wanted to waste some time. Since then, I have more tracks, more gear and a different place to record. Now the site is about Apartment Recording not using a PC, or heaven forbid, a Mac. The non-related articles are still here too, usually dubbed "Fun Stuff".

Q:  So, it's still a Music Site with extras?

A:  Yes. I should have just answered the previous question with that.

Q:  Who is this website aimed at?

A:  People, hopefully.  I find that people smarter than me enjoy the site.

Q:  Spelling and Grammar on this site is top notch; who proof-reads the articles?

A:  My Mom.

Q:  How often is the website updated?

A:  Once a month, whether I send an e-mail out or not.  You can join the mailing list or become a fan of the website Facebook group.

Q:  How do I get to hear the songs?

A:  You can head over to the Songs page, or each individual "album" page has the songs too.  Due to server space, there are many mp3 websites that have songs available that can't be found here.  On a good note, all songs from this site are free.

Q:  If I like what I hear, can I purchase CDs through the website?

A:  You can. You can even purchase CDs if you didn't like the songs.  Either way, just head over to the Store.

Q:  How often can I expect new songs/CDs?

A:  I try and put at least one CD out a year, but usually try for 2. Being a nice guy, when a new CD is done but not "officially" released, I usually put the whole CD up as a free download.

Q:  What is an official release?

A:  When CD Baby finally puts the CD up for sale.  As of last year, this process easily takes the longest amount of time.  That's good for you, if you like free mp3s.

Q:  Do you play out live?

A:  Indeed I do.  I play in a cover band, The Toastmen, but I don't do any of my songs.  Also, we have the best vocalist in town (not me).

Q:  Did you really have to have an FAQ on your site?

A:  No, not really.
