I know this isn't anything new but I haven't had an article in a while.

One thing that that bothers me is the lack of originality in CD covers these days.  I hopped on CD Universe and randomly browsed through different pages and made a small compilation of recent album covers.  I think this is where you can play "Spot the differences" because they're all basically the same.  And not just the same, they're all the same in the same boring, unimaginative way.  Seems like the only ones making decent CD sleeves are metal bands.

Anyways, here we go with a quick look at the lack of creativity by current CD cover designers. No wonder why they don't want a credit.

Here's what happens when I go to the Country section...

We got hats.  Another reason I hate New Country.  I won't even talk about how dumb the titles are.

Here's what happens when I go to the R & B section...

Look at all the faces.

Here what happens when I go to the Dance section...

Less hats than the Country section though.

I furthered my venture into these covers and dug a little deeper and almost scared myself when I went to the Cher section.

Her covers have as much creativity and talent as she does.  And I heard the CDs are made from the same material as her face.

I guess there's some chick named Cascada.  Never heard of her and probably never will.

Here's where I can judge a CD by its cover.

Wow - what variety.  No wonder CD sales are down: everyone thinks they own the CD already.  Just kidding, there's usually shit inside.
